As the name implies, Romany Sue reflects the popular interest in gypsies at the time this piece was conceived, also seen in the paintings of Augustus John and best selling records. This gloriously attired romany - all lilac hues and floral motifs across her hat, shawl, apron, and full length dress - has baskets of brightly colored crocuses to sell. Romany Sue is a Royal Doulton classic brought vividly back to life. The original figure was designed by Leslie Harradine and produced from 1936 to 1949.
